Japanese gaming giant Sega recently shared more about its “SuperGame” plan, including combining cloud technology and NFTs. Sega game producer Masaka Kikuchi revealed that games expand by connecting various cultures and technologies and will expand into new areas such as cloud games and NFTs in the future. In May 2021, Sega first revealed a five-year long-term strategy called Creating Super Games in its financial performance report, which will consider investing up to 100 billion yen ($882 million) over the next five years to achieve its super game ambition. Furthermore, in November of the same year, Sega announced a strategic alliance with Microsoft to develop games using Microsoft’s Xbox’s Azure cloud platform.
